The Circular Economy of Lead

When a lead-acid battery reaches the end of its life, it doesn't have to end up in a landfill. In fact, almost none of them do.

A spent battery arrives at our facility. We break it apart and separate the lead paste, metallic grids, polypropylene casing, and sulfuric acid. The lead is smelted, refined to 99.98% purity, and cast into new ingots. The plastic is cleaned and pelletized into injection-grade polypropylene. The acid is neutralized and treated.

Those ingots go to a battery manufacturer. They become new grids, new plates, new batteries. And when those batteries reach end of life, the cycle starts again.

This is not a theoretical loop. It is our entire business model. Every ingot we produce was a battery. Every battery we process gets a second life.

Energy Savings

Recycling lead from batteries uses significantly less energy than mining and smelting primary lead ore. Secondary production reduces the carbon footprint of every ingot.
