Our Story
FUNMETAL C.A. was founded on April 2, 1970, in Mariara, Carabobo, Venezuela. For over five decades, we have operated from the same location — continuously investing in technology, capacity, and environmental controls to become one of the leading secondary lead producers in Latin America.
What began as a local battery recycling operation has evolved into a modern metallurgical facility capable of producing over 5,000 metric tons of refined lead per month. Our equipment includes Canadian-manufactured rotary furnaces and precision refining systems that deliver purity levels most secondary producers cannot achieve.
Today, we export to battery manufacturers and metals traders across the Americas. Our commercial partnership with Greenwich Metals Inc. (USA) — a confirmed buyer with active export history — validates our capability to serve the most demanding international markets. Our customers come for the specs. They stay for the reliability.
Our Facility
Our 30,850 m² campus in Mariara houses every stage of the recycling and refining process under one roof. There is no outsourced smelting, no third-party refining, and no gaps in the chain of custody.
