99.98% Pure Lead Ingots
Secondary lead that meets primary-grade standards. Refined in-house, lab-certified per batch, and shipped with full traceability from our facility to your production line.
Why This Purity Matters
The difference between 99.97% and 99.98% purity may seem marginal on paper. In practice, it is the difference between lead that performs and lead that compromises your downstream product.
At 99.97%, trace impurities — particularly bismuth, copper, and antimony — remain at levels that can affect grid corrosion rates, oxide reactivity, and alloy consistency. At 99.98%, those contaminants are reduced to parts-per-million levels where they no longer interfere with metallurgical behavior.
For battery manufacturers, this means more predictable plate formation, longer cycle life, and fewer warranty claims. For alloy producers, it means a cleaner base metal that responds precisely to alloying additions. For traders, it means a product that passes QC inspection at any tier-1 facility in the world.
We achieve this purity through proprietary de-coppering combined with Harris-process refining — a multi-stage approach that strips Cu, Bi, Ag, and Sb systematically rather than relying on a single pass. Every batch is independently assayed before casting. If it does not meet spec, it goes back to the furnace.
Where Our Lead Goes
Battery Manufacturing
SLI, industrial, and motive power batteries. Grid casting, plate production, and lead oxide feedstock requiring consistent 99.98% purity batch after batch.
Lead Oxide Production
High-purity feedstock for ball mill and Barton pot oxide production. Low trace elements ensure predictable oxide chemistry and paste performance.
Cable Sheathing
Telecommunications and power cable sheathing where corrosion resistance and mechanical properties depend on controlled lead purity.
Radiation Shielding
Medical, nuclear, and industrial radiation shielding applications where material density and compositional consistency are critical.
General Industrial
Ammunition, ballast, soldering alloy feedstock, and other industrial applications requiring high-purity lead as a base material.
How We Certify Every Batch
Quality at FUNMETAL is not a department — it is the production process itself. Every step from smelting to shipping includes built-in verification.
Lab Testing
OES (Optical Emission Spectrometry) and AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometry) on every production batch before casting.
Certificate of Analysis
Full elemental breakdown — Pb, Sb, Cu, Bi, Ag, Sn, As, Fe, Zn — issued per batch and shipped with every load.
No Blending Policy
Each batch is refined individually. We do not blend off-spec material with compliant batches to achieve target numbers.
Reject Protocol
If a batch does not meet 99.98% Pb minimum, it is returned to the furnace for re-refining. It does not ship.
