Lead Alloys — Built to Your Composition
Tell us what you need. Antimony percentage, calcium range, tin content — our metallurgists will match your target spec and confirm feasibility within 48 hours.
How It Works
1. You Send Your Spec
Share your target alloy composition — element percentages, tolerances, and application requirements. Email, phone, or through our quote form.
2. We Confirm Feasibility
Our metallurgists review your specification and confirm whether we can produce it, with any adjustments noted, within 48 hours.
3. We Produce and Certify
Once confirmed, we produce your alloy, assay each batch against your target spec, and issue a Certificate of Analysis showing target vs. actual composition.
Alloy Families
Lead-Antimony (Pb-Sb)
Antimony content from 1% to 11%. The workhorse alloy system for flooded lead-acid batteries. Antimony improves casting fluidity and mechanical strength of battery grids, making it the standard choice for deep-cycle and industrial battery applications.
| Antimony range | 1% – 11% Sb |
| Primary applications | Flooded battery grids, terminals |
| Key properties | Improved castability, mechanical strength, corrosion resistance |
Lead-Calcium (Pb-Ca)
Calcium content from 0.03% to 0.12%. The alloy of choice for VRLA (valve-regulated) and maintenance-free batteries. Calcium reduces gassing, self-discharge, and water loss compared to antimony-based alloys.
| Calcium range | 0.03% – 0.12% Ca |
| Primary applications | VRLA batteries, maintenance-free SLI |
| Key properties | Low gassing, reduced self-discharge, lower water loss |
Lead-Tin (Pb-Sn)
Tin additions improve casting fluidity and enhance corrosion resistance of the positive grid. Often combined with calcium in ternary Pb-Ca-Sn systems for optimized VRLA performance.
| Tin range | Per customer specification |
| Primary applications | Battery grids (positive and negative), connectors |
| Key properties | Improved casting fluidity, enhanced corrosion resistance |
